In 2025, biodiversity is at the heart of the news.
At a time when 70% of all living things have disappeared in 50 years, bees are under more threat than ever from the Asian hornet, disease and other parasites such as varroa mites, leading to a drop in honey production in France.
Despite these difficulties, CEPOVETT is continuing its fight in favour of biodiversity and the regenerative economy, by developing the cultivation of honey within the company. In 2016, the CEPOVETT group installed beehives on its various sites, including the rooftops of Paris, to raise awareness of the disappearance of pollinators around the world. Over the years, several hundred customers and employees have visited the company's various beehives and tasted CEPOVETT honey, which has been prepared in jars by the Chairman, himself a beekeeper.
While volumes of honey are falling, demand is rising and prices are climbing. This could make traced and local honey a real luxury product by 2030.
