With a view to extending its know-how as a textile manufacturer, the CEPOVETT Group - Epsilon workshop in Madagascar is affirming its desire to develop expertise in the manufacture of technical parkas, a key item with high added value in the workwear collection. These products, with their many specific technical features in terms of protection, waterproofing, comfort and ergonomics to meet intensive use, required significant technical and human investment in 2018.
Eight production lines have been set up and, eventually, 300 people will be dedicated to this activity. The workshop has therefore had to equip itself with seam-sealing machines (TAPE type), certified by the major fabric manufacturers, and train its teams in these cutting-edge tools. This new parka business opens up a whole new world of opportunities for Epsilon. In 2020, the company plans to push the technology even further by integrating ultrasonic welding within its walls.
