The subject of considerable attention, the Atlantic salmon is the last wild strain in Western Europe capable of reproducing at a distance of almost 1,000 km from the ocean. In Haute-Loire, in the gorges of the Allier, CEPOVETT has embarked on a programme to protect this endemic species, in partnership with the "Conservatoire National du Saumon Sauvage". The programme will run for three years, from 2024 to 2027. This action plan is aligned with the company's commitments to biodiversity and will involve both internal and external stakeholders, customers and employees alike, to actively raise awareness. Several significant actions have been planned, including salmon counts, the release of fry reared in fish farms in the Allier to repopulate their species, and tastings of wild salmon from the Conservatoire's breeding stock, prepared by local Michelin-starred chefs. These operations, conducted in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region where CEPOVETT's operations and head office have traditionally been based, are helping to boost localdevelopment and preserve the region.
