The REPS project, initiated in November 2018 between the CEPOVETT GROUP, CETI (innovation centre) and TDV Industries was completed in 2021. This tripartite partnership aims to provide the workwear market with an innovative solution for upcycling end-of-service-life textiles. Its aim was to produce a circular fabric from textile waste. This research & development project made it possible to study the recycling of approximately 500 kg of unsold or end-of-service-life workwear and to develop a process for unravelling the material.
This 100% recycled fibre, blended with 34% recycled polyester fibre from plastic bottles, was then woven by TDV Industries into a 180 m long, 1.50 m wide fabric from which CEPOVETT made mixed prototype garments, jackets and trousers. This innovative circular fabric will be integrated into LAFONT collections as of 2022, which illustrates the brand's pioneering and avant-garde spirit.
