With more than 250,000 hectares of forest disappearing every year, Madagascar is a global ecological tragedy in terms of deforestation. CEPOVETT Group has one of the largest textile factories on the island and has committed to replanting 10,000 trees annually in conjunction with its stakeholders.
This innovative programme allows employees to become involved in reforestation by providing plants to be replanted at home. The plants are first grown in nurseries installed on the Epsilon industrial site, then offered to employees and other stakeholders to replant endemic fruit trees (mango, lychee) and eucalyptus plants at home.
This socio-economic and environmental reforestation programme aims not only to address environmental issues through carbon sequestration, but also economic issues by providing an additional source of income for local populations.
